About the Instructor.
Mayumi Hayakawa
Mayumi Hayakawa’s journey is a testament to the power of cross-cultural experiences and the importance of bilingual education. Her background reflects a deep commitment to both personal and professional growth, driven by a desire to bridge cultures and make a positive impact.

Early Life and Education:
- Mayumi’s early years in Singapore exposed her to a diverse cultural environment, shaping her understanding of different cultures from a young age. She attended local kindergarten before transitioning to the Japanese School, reflecting her adaptability and early exposure to multiculturalism. She and her family move back to Japan when she was 12yrs old.

Study and Work Abroad:
- At 16, Mayumi embarked on an independent journey to the U.S., where she attended a boarding school in New England. Her involvement in social volunteer work, participating in varsity sports showcased her commitment to community and extracurricular engagement. Securing a full scholarship and maintaining a high GPA exemplified her dedication and academic prowess.
- Upon returning to Japan, she worked multiple jobs to fund her studies at California State University, majoring in Interior Design. Her work as an interior designer in a prestigious hospitality design agency and subsequent employment as a designer underscored her skills and international recognition in the field.

Career and Contributions:
- Mayumi’s career spanned various roles and projects, including collaborations with major real estate companies and high-end hotel design. Her work as an interior designer for global projects and her contributions to a vocational school for interior design reflected her innovative approach and commitment to the industry.

- Educational Initiatives:The birth of her eldest son inspired her to address the need for bilingual and multicultural education. She founded 2 International Preschools in Tokyo, focusing on bilingual education, Japanese culture, and understanding of foreign cultures.
She has Lived in Holland from 2022 to 2024, teaching both Japanese and English from adults to children.
